Historic Savannah The "Hostess City"

Little Tybee Island A pure, uninhabited nature preserve, accessible only by boat, “Little” Tybee Island is actually more than twice Tybee Island’s size.

Marine Science Center Year-round programs for island visitors, scouts, and school groups on the beach, in the marsh, on the water, in the classroom, and the Coastal Gallery.

Tybee Light Station Built in 1773, it is Georgia’s oldest and tallest lighthouse, and one of America’s most complete historic light stations.

Tybee Museum is located off US-80 in a 1898 coastal Georgia artillery battery at Fort Screven, the site of the Tybee Light Station.

Tybee Pier & Pavilion The original Tybee Pier, built in the early 1900s, burned down in a great fire. Rebuilt in 1996, today’s Tybee Pier & Pavilion is one of our most visited and visible attractions.

Tybee Sea Turtle Project Tybee Island beaches are important nesting areas for endangered sea turtles. They return each year to nest from May 1 to October 31.

Tybee Island
tybee island vacation rentals welcome sign Tybee Island, Georgia is a small barrier island on the Atlantic Seaboard, only three miles long. Its name means "salt marsh", the abundance of which is one of its many attractions. The tranquility that can be found here is the result of careful city planning, which looks to preserve the unspoiled natural beauty of the beaches, creeks, and their native wildlife. This small town accommodates both old island shacks and multi-million dollar homes. This is not a resort town, but rather a gem of rare beauty that can be enjoyed casually, with many fabulous restaurants, shops and local art galleries. If you feel like putting your shoes back on,(the flip-flops are hard to give up), Historic Savannah is only a 20 minute drive away. A truly cosmopolitan city, its abundance of antique shops, fine dining, art galleries and historic sight-seeing venues are world class attractions. So there you have it, the best of both worlds- from laid-back Tybee Joy Vacation Rentals to historic downtown Savannah sight seeing. We promise it will be an experience you won't want to miss!
