While the setting is peaceful, it is far from uneventful. Watch enormous container ships travel between the Atlantic Ocean and the Port of Savannah, look for dolphins near the channel, or simply enjoy the coastal breeze with your morning coffee. The shops, restaurants, and Tybee Pier on the island's South End are only a couple miles away and historic downtown Savannah is also close enough for a day of sightseeing before returning to the quieter pace of the island.
